Tattered Cover Book Store Panel Discussion “The Ambushed Grand Jury”

On March 23, 2004 Denver Tattered Book Store hosted “The Ambushed Grand Jury” non-fiction and non-profit panel discussion and public release of the book. A CSPAN video for public education.

Hosted by Patricia Calhoun, Editor of Westword, with opening remarks.

The panel was comprised of co-authors Caron Balkany and Wes McKinley along with former Rocky Flats nuclear worker Jacque Brever (now deceased). Jon Lipsky was not present as he was employed with the FBI at Los Angeles. Had Mr. Lipsky participated in the panel discussion he would have faced administrative action and potential criminal charges.

Of interest, then-Congressman Mark Udall sent letters to various U.S. Government agencies concerning the publication of “The Ambushed Grand Jury.” Mark Udall was the co-author of the Rocky Flats National Wildlife Refuge Act of 2001. Of importance, then-U.S. Attorney John Suthers sent a letter (dated April 19, 2004) to Mark Udall offering to allow agents of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), U.S. Department of Energy and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to review 65 boxes of Rocky Flats Special Federal Grand Jury investigative records. The Rocky Flats Special Federal Grand Jury investigative reports were and are protected from unauthorized access by the United States District Court, District of Colorado under penalty of Contempt of Court. Meaning, the documents were kept from the public. More at https://rockyflatsambushedgrandjury.com/denver-u-s-attorney-allow-select-review-rocky-flats-special-federal-grand-jury-evidence/.
